Orphan Drugs
What is an orphan medicine or drug?
“Orphan Drugs” are medicinal products intended for the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of rare diseases that put people’s lives at risk, and whose access is very limited either due to their availability and/or their high cost.
A disease or disorder is considered rare when it affects less than 1 in 2,000 citizens.
At PROFARES we have a wide network of international suppliers and the necessary logistics to be able to import in a short time most of the orphan drugs and high-cost medicines not available in the country, thus offering a health solution to people who suffer from some disease and who cannot have access to the latest generation treatments.
